The Persians
of Mystimitts graciously allow two Shetland Sheepdogs and an Australian
Shepherd to be their "room mates" in our home.

I purchased
my first tricolor Sheltie, C.C., in 1984.
Her first
litter she produced four puppies.
A male
and a female went to Japan where they both became champions.
The male,
JCC Ch. Akirene's Classic Edition, Eddie for short, went on
to become the top dog in Japan in the 1985-86 show season.
In 1989
my second tricolor Sheltie, a female named Lana, joined our
family.
A granddaughter
to my first Sheltie, Lana produced a Champion in her first litter.

Lana's daughter
earned her final Championship points under the renowned Sheltie breeder/judge,
Leslie Rogers.

Lana lived her
entire life with incredible zest - still bouncing around the house
like a puppy well after reaching her "senior" years. We
lost her when she was 14 years old. We miss her so much. Rest in Peace,
dear Lana.

Above
is a family photo - from left to right is grandma C.C., grand daughter
Lana, grandson Charlie, and a friend of the "family", Vern.

Our
Australian Shepherd, Mysti, was
an unusual color called a "Blue Merle".
She
liked to sit on a chair at the table - something she knews she
wasn't allowed to do. :-) I think she was waiting for me to
serve her a steak dinner.
It
was clear that Mysti considered herself a person.
She
was taken from us much too soon. I know Mysti has Lana to keep
her company now and to play tag in a field of clouds. Until
we meet again, sweet Mysti...

In 2000 I purchased my first sable & white Sheltie. I named her
Luba. What a character she is! Luba loves to rough house with other
dogs. Her favorite playmate was her best friend Mysti, the Aussie. Dyg'r,
a blue merle Aussie male has come to live at Mystimitts, but Luba hasn't
quite figured him out.

Luba
grew from a gangly puppy into a beautiful adult... so beautiful
that in
2002 I entered her in her first dog show.
Luba
was a star! She quickly earned both her Canadian & International
Championships.
In her short show career Luba was once Best of Breed over
a male Special and was twice Best of Opposite Sex over competition.

I would like
to thank Debbie Moraes, my friend, and Luba's breeder & handler
for showing her so beautifully.
While
some people think cats and dogs do not get along, the Mystimitts "kids"
prove them wrong. As the saying goes, "We are one big happy family".
